Founding scientific programs

Program ‘Turbulent Mixing and Beyond’

We – My colleagues and I – founded the scientific program ‘Turbulent Mixing and Beyond’ (TMB) to bring together researchers from different areas of science, engineering and mathematics and to focus their attention on the fundamental problem of non-equilibrium dynamics, interfacial mixing, and turbulent mixing. TMB program has been founded in 2007 with the support of international scientific community, the US and international funding agencies and institutions. The goals of the TMB program are in the development of new ideas for understanding the fundamentals of turbulent mixing, in the applications of novel approaches for description of a broad range of phenomena where these processes occur, and in the potential impact on technology. The TMB program spans a broad range of research areas in science, mathematics and engineering. To date, the TMB community unites over 6000 researchers worldwide including scientists from academia, national laboratories, corporations and industry, at experienced and early stages of their carrier working. Google.com returns ~7,000,000 results for ‘turbulent mixing and beyond’ program.
